If someone has 7-6, 4-7, or 4-6, they would have an open-end straight draw. There also is the possibility that someone has a gut-shot straight draw or a backdoor flush draw . Someone can also hit a card that would make an over pair to your eights.
Recommendation
After the small blind checks, you should bet $75 which is the size of the pot. You prefer to win it at this point. If someone calls, you need to play carefully you don't want to play a large pot with this hand.

If you know the playing style of your rivals and have a good idea of the actions that they might make, you will be in a better position to play your hand.
Recommendation

Conclusion
You have an over pair of jacks, a good hand with this flop. You should think what Tight Tom might have when he called your raise before the flop. There is a possibility that he has A-K or A-Q suited, or somewhat a pair of nines or some other pair.
If Tom had an over pair to your jacks then he would have re-raised before the flop. Loose Levin would bet different hands or perhaps a drawing poker hand.
Recommendation
You can raise to $500 because you think that your jacks is the best hand at this point. Also, you don't want Tight Tom to call with a hand such as A-K and catch an ace or king on the turn or on the river.
